Spinal Cord Stimulation

A non-medication approach that uses gentle electrical impulses to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain.

What is Spinal Cord Stimulation?

Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is an advanced, reversible therapy for chronic pain that has not responded to other treatments. A small device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord, modifying pain signals so they are no longer perceived as painful. It is especially effective for nerve pain and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS/RSD).

What to Expect

  • 1

A non-surgical trial period lets you experience the therapy before committing

  • 2

Temporary leads are placed near the spinal cord to test effectiveness

  • 3

If the trial is successful, a permanent implant is placed in a minimally invasive procedure

  • 4

The device can be adjusted or turned off at any time

  • 5

Most patients experience a significant reduction in pain and improved function

Who This Treatment Helps

Patients with failed back surgery syndrome, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS/RSD), chronic nerve pain in the arms or legs, or other chronic pain conditions that have not responded to medications or other interventions.
